Video on Poetry

Poetry Audio

If we want to consider the philosophical, essential aspect of existence, our life can be described through a haiku. I mean, every aspect of what we do and how we do it. For me, this is Basho’s teaching.

However constructed, this short poem is a piece of life. So, if in this brevity we recognize the art, the moral law, the aesthetics, the intimate vision of the world, then we understand the essence of haiku.

Haiku

The beauty you see
Of landscape where I live
Constructed mind

At the river
The shape of the flow changes
I clean my face

Candle goes out
Embracing my desires
Clock on the wall

Mask removed
At the mirror I see my face
virus in mind

Diaku

The word Diaku is a combination of two particles: “Dia-” refers to the word “diaspora.” —that is the dispersion or spread of any people from their original homeland; The “ku” part comes from the same particle in “Hai-ku”, where it means ‘phrase’ or ‘verse’. So we can say that Diaku means “diaspora-haiku,” as this term combines the quality and peculiarity of diaspora, and the characteristics of haiku Poetry.

Expectation waits a reply
Postman and box
Dispelled mind that strange cold

Fallen leaves
scattered under the tree at
The clinic window
Imprisoned body by unlocked mind

The cup is empty
just when I am thirsty
In bed with laptop
Warmth of virtual organs awakens pain

In the darkness
my monotonous life wears
an eternal sigh
meaning of life in fictional truths
